From Our PresidentHello Everyone, First I’d like to say Happy New Year, even though I know it is already March. Second I’d like to introduce you to your newly elected board members: Our Vice President of Programs is Carole Lane from Riverside Police. Carol already has some great ideas for good training and meeting topics as well as some unique ways to raise to money for our association. Our Vice President of Membership is Amy Varela from Pomona Police. You should be receiving your 2010 Membership Application soon. I’d like to encourage each agency to take advantage of the Agency Membership options that are available as this will allow you to bring others from your agency to meetings that may be of interest to them without having to pay any fees. Please be looking for the membership application and respond as promptly as possible as we will be up against a deadline to renew our dual membership in the International Association of Crime Analysts in May. Our very capable and irreplaceable Treasurer is Michelle Smith. We do have half a conference to sponsor in 2011 so Michelle may be asking us all to come up with fundraising ideas to make the conference outstanding yet affordable. Our Secretary is Raquel Perez from Redlands Police. Should you have questions about what happened at meetings that you may have missed, you can contact Raquel and she can help you get up-to-date on the business portion of the association. We all look forward to serving as your board over the next two years and to providing you with applicable and interesting training and meeting topics. Please feel free to contact any of the board members with questions you may have. And don’t forget there will be plenty of opportunities to participate by serving on committees or hosting meetings so do not be shy about volunteering. Thanks again for your commitment to the association and the board Sincerely
Kim Folkens, Crime Analyst |
